WE HAVE TOO MUCH TIME

I listened many friends said how busy they are, how much work they have to handle, no time being with family and no time for themselves. I think not only my friends; most people think they don't have enough time. But I have a totally different point of view. I think our problem is WE HAVE TOO MUCH TIME. You may think it's unreasonable. Because the majority think time is like money, more is better. But please listen to me. I asked a friend about time. Here's our conversation.

I asked, "How long you think you will live to?"

He answered, "I think I still have 50 years to live."

He's 30 now. It's reasonable to think he will live to age of 80.

Then I asked, "If you had only half of 50 years, 25 years only to live, you think your life will change?"

He answered, "Nothing much different"

I asked, "How about 10 years only?"

He answered, "I will spend more time to travel, because I really enjoy traveling, and I will do more voluntary to help more people."

I asked, "How about 1 year?"

He answered, "I will definitely quit my job, go travel with my family. To go the place I really wanna go."

I think most people will have the similar answers. What did the answer told me? It told me that most people really know what is the most important in their lives.

But please count the hours we spent for the most important things per week.

10 hours, 5 hours or less?

And please count how many hours we spent for watching TV, playing video game, go shopping, singing karaoke, working overtime.

5 hours, 10 hours or more?

Most people spent more time on those minor activities than the most important thing. Because they think they have time still. My friend, he thinks he can live to age of 80. He didn't do the most important things right now, because he thinks he has 50 years to do it.

However, I'm so cruel to ask him a question.

Who tell you that you can live to age of 80?

Are you really sure you have 50 years left?

Why not 1 year? Why not 1 day?

To recall my statement, I think our problem is WE HAVE TOO MUCH TIME.

I would like to correct it to WE MISTHINK WE HAVE TOO MUCH TIME.

Thus, we forgot we are living at the moment of "Present". We spent our time for our future. We earned a lot of money for our retired life. We spent our time for our past. We used many nights to regret our mistake and our unhappy experience.

We always forgot the present. We always think we have too much time to waste.
